My Story

Ceri (pronounced Kerry) means Love in Welsh.

They say ‘do what you love’ and I love travel, tinkering with new techniques and creating modern designs. My handmade ‘boho refined’ jewellery is created to spark joyful memories and give my clients happy moments of connection with their loved ones.

As a child I lived in Jakarta, Indonesia and explored the Indonesian islands of Pulau Seribu (1000 Islands), Bali and Lombok as well as destinations such as Nepal and Thailand. My travels at that time and to this day take in many, many countries and cultures around the world. Inspired by diversity and global living, Ceri Lott Jewellery is a selection of hand crafted jewellery created to celebrate my wanderlust and other happy moments in my life. Each piece reflects the diversity of culture that I have already experienced when travelling around the world.

At university I studied Engineering and Design alongside Media Production, Maths and Physics. These have come in very handy for calculating, measuring and designing new pieces. When you own a small business everything you have ever learned and experienced suddenly comes into play (and plenty of things you have never done before!). From product design to calculating and ordering the right size and weight of silver to evaluating size and shape of gemstones. It all has to fit perfectly or it goes in the scrap pile! I recycle 100% of my scrap so nothing ever goes to waste.

The many craftspeople, artists and creators that I met during my travels inspired me to learn a wealth of handmade jewellery making skills and to follow an open creative process. Sometimes I sit and design a piece in advance using my engineering skills but most often use more of an artists approach. Like my travel plans, I like to see where the wind takes me. 

I love working on projects that allow me to experiment and play with new materials so every piece of jewellery I make is one of a kind and I love to contrast natural flaws with smooth textures. I am always learning new jewellery techniques and honing my ‘style’ of jewellery. The goal is always to create something that feels laidback, fun and full of life.
